아이들을 위해 자신의 벗은 사진들을 소셜 미디어에 공개하고 있는 여성이 있다.

#HUMANNOCENSOR (검열없는 인간)이란 해시태그로 프로젝트를 시작하고 주도하고 있는 레이시 바렛이 그 주인공.

이 프로젝트는 그녀가 지난 3월 23일 자신의 페이스북과 인스타그램에 올린 한 장의 사진으로 시작했다.

나는 세 명의 사람을 낳았고 키웠습니다. 내 몸은 이들을 낳기 위해 세 번 늘어나기도 했고 열리기도 했죠. 나는 거의 5년간 제대로 못 자고 이 세 명의 사람들에게 먹여 키웠습니다.

그녀는 자신의 몸의 가치가 어떻게 생겼느냐 혹 무엇을 입었느냐에 달린 것이 아니라고 강조한다.자신이 여자, 특히 아이를 낳아 키운 엄마이기 때문에 측정할 수 없는 가치가 있다는 것.

이렇게 시작한 바렛의 프로젝트는 킴 카다시안의 누드 셀카로 인해 화제가 됐다. 바로 아래의 인스타그램 포스팅이 그것.

I just felt the need to say this. As a woman who actively fights facebook and other social media platforms for censoring birth and breastfeeding images….this has bothered me. The double standard of body shaming I have seen because Kim Kardashian posted a censored nudie of her body. WHO CARES?! It is a womans body!! Only difference is a baby isnt hanging off her boob…so does that now make it innappropriate? No way! 그녀의 누드 셀카와 킴 카다시안의 누드 셀타를 붙여 올린 그녀의 포스팅은 큰 반향을 일으키며 소셜 미디어 공간에 퍼져갔고 그녀의 프로젝트도 큰 탄력을 얻게 되었다.

“나는 말해야만 한다고 생각했어요. 출산 장면이나 젖을 먹이는 사진은 페이스북이나 다른 소셜 미디어 플랫폼에서 검열당하는 걸 자주 보게 되죠. 여자로서 우리는 싸워야 해요. 짜증 나잖아요”
